Angel's Landing - Autumn Colors

This week the
Angel's Landing Design Team was asked to create something using Autumn colors, no bright white. My solution to the no bright white was to paint my paper with craft acrylic paint and then print my chosen image onto the painted paper. This image is from the Autumn Tweetings set. As soon as the paper came out of the printer I sprinkled gold embossing powder on it and used my heat gun to emboss it. It's really quite pretty in real life, though hard to capture in the photos. (Want to get a really good look at the cool embossing technique and the way the Copics look on paint, click on the pictures for a larger view.)
I then colored the image with Copics. Copics act and look totally different on this surface. I like the look... it looks painted.
I stitched in metallic gold thread around the edges and then stitched some more in burgandy around some edges and in a floral pattern on the panel. This card is quite heavy with all the layers of papers inside and out and is a big 6 x 6.

The inside is made with the same cardstocks and designer paper and a smaller image of one of the birds on a branch.

  2. That stitched leaf detailing makes that panel look like a fall tapestry. The gold embossing is awesome on this image, and your Copic strokes on that acorn birdhouse give it the feeling of wood grain.
